Apple Music Pauses After Each Track

So I've seen this issue posted elsewhere and the answer always seems to be that the music has become unchecked, but I've already verified all my music in my playlist is checked, even going so far as to uncheck and recheck it all, and Apple Music on my MacBook still stops playing at the beginning of each song. I have to press play again to get it to continue. Any other suggestions on how I should approach this issue? I'm using a MacBook Pro M1 Pro, Monterrey 12.3.1.

How odd. You could try holding down option+cmd as you launch Music which opens it in its safe mode and can sometimes resolve odd issues. You could also test behaviour with your computer offline to see if it is perhaps some kind of handshaking issue with Apple's cloud music service when you are online.

The other less likely explanation is that all music is set to skip when shuffling, and shuffle play is selected. Are you playing locally stored content or streaming from the cloud?

Should be playing locally, the playlist was downloaded. I was originally listening to the playlist on shuffle, but I turned shuffle off and get the same behavior, it rolls over to the next track and sometimes I'll hear the first fraction of a second of the track but then it pauses until I hit play again.
