Spotlight not working on 2021 MacBook Pro for Apple Pages files
Spotlight bug in 2021 MacBook Pro running Monterey. Specifically for Apple Pages files. My previous version of Apple Pages was the iWorks '09 version so that's where all of my Pages files were created. Hundreds of them. This year I upgraded to a new computer with the new Pages already installed, all purchased directly from Apple. It opens the existing '09 Pages files but if I allow it to Upgrade those files to its new format, it pops up a message that says "macOS Spotlight search information was removed."
Not only does it remove the file from Spotlight, the file never gets reindexed. I tried dragging a folder full of updated Pages files into the Spotlight Privacy window and then back out again. They did not reindex. I did the same for the entire disk, which is an external disk just for files. So far that hasn't worked either. Even if we find a way to get the Updated files to index, every time I open a Pages '09 file and allow it to Upgrade, this will happen again. I am completely baffled that Apple would ignore its own files. Is there a way to get this to work without having to worry every time I open a Pages file?
