How can I revert back to 12.4?
You can tell I’m frustrated.

Yes, because the answer to your questions is two posts above yours.

Do you need the 12.4 installer?

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 12.4

Copy/paste that into Terminal and it should download the 12.4 installer. Get a 16GB USB stick and make a bootable installer.

Now Path Finder can’t see common directories

If you are using system modifications such as Path Finder, you should check that it is compatible before updating. System Modifications will break with many updates and upgrades because they are leveraging undocumented hacks into the system in order to provide the capabilities they advertise.

What is going on with you guys?

To which guys are you referring? I've never had any problems with any update or upgrade and I install beta versions.

I also don't install system modifications.

What are you people doing out there in California?

I'm in Florida drinking a Manhattan.

Maybe it would be easier to address/resolve what ever issue you are currently having with 12.5....(?)

The current stable release of Monterey including bug fixes, is macOS 12.5

Just foolishly updated from 12.4 to 12.5 on my iMac Pro. You know, the $5,000 iMac. Now Path Finder can’t see common directories like Documents, Photos, etc. Finder can see them.

When I launch 3rd party apps, I get popup error messages saying that it can’t find the Documents directory and other paths. All of this worked this morning.

this is the second time in a year that I have had an update go wrong. Last year I updated iOS on my perfectly working iPhone 7 and it bricked the device. I had to buy the latest iPhone to deal with that problem.

Just loaded Path Finder on my iMac18,3 and it works as advertised. Try the following:

1 - boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

2 - make sure Path Finder has Fun Disk Access enabled in the` System/Security & Privacy/Full Disk Access/Privacy preference pane.

Also, gave you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. You are not talking to Apple. The volunteers here do not have access any internal Apple information. And the volunteers here are most definitely _NOT_ responsible for testing and making sure your 3rd party add-on software is compatible before you apply an update. That is your job.
