iPhone 13 charging

When I got my new phone at Verizon. I was told to only charge my phone on the MagSafe charger and that It is unsafe to use the lightning cable for longer than an hour. I’m just wondering if that is true and why that is true.

It's absolute nonsense.

You can use a USB-C to Lightning cable with a USB-C power adapter or if you have a USB to Lightning cable and a USB power adapter from an older phone you can use that.

You can leave them connected for as long as you want. It is very common to plug it in before going to bed and disconnect the next morning.
