Contacts loss

My iphone 11 pro randomly lost about 400 of my 1600 contacts. I noticed in messaging that only numbers were showing with no names. I went to icloud backup and the only back up was after the issue had occurred. It has continued to happen randomly but only a few at a time. I spent about an hour on the phone with an apple supervisor and they couldn't explain why. Any ideas?

Lost contacts Lost many contacts after an automatic iCloud backup. I was texting with these contacts last night and now their contact is gone. Many contacts have been in my phone for over 2 years and bow they’re gone. But yesterday evening they were there. The automatic iCloud backup occurred at 12:42AM. I can only assume that this is when the contacts went missing. My phone was on a charger last night from around 11:00PM to about 12:45. Could the phone being disconnected while the update was in progress cause this?

Iphone 11 losing contacts Hello, I am facing a problem with iPhone Contacts. Suddenly, some of the contacts I have are no longer found in the Contacts. The contacts lost are random, some are old registered contacts and others are newly registered contacts. At the time of loss of contacts and 2 weeks back, I haven't updated the iphone nor installed any new applications. This happened suddenly and without any action. I have tried the steps required to free some storage, update the IOS, uncheck short name in Contact, and restarting the phone. But still the contacts lost are still not displayed. Also logged into icloud to see if the contacts are still there, but did not find them. Appreciate your support on resolving the issue. Regards M

Some things to try...

A. Enable Contacts in iCloud Settings:

See If “Contacts” is somehow disabled.

If it is disabled, then enable it.
If it is enabled, then disable it and then re-enable it.

B. Also, Try the Following:
