Battery drain since iOS 15.6 is ridiculous

Q:

Battery since iOS update

Since updating to iOS 15.6 on Tuesday , the battery on my phone 12 Pro, is running down super fast .

ive turned off all notifications, all background app refresh

, close all apps straight after use, turned off location, even Bluetooth, but it showing my photos app is running in background for hours and hours.

how do I fix this.

as a hiker the phone is now useless as it lasts a max of 2/3 hours with Strava running, all because of the background photos drain on the battery

My Xs Max has 96% battery health, factory original. I’m a light user. I stayed on IOS 14.8 until IOS 15.5 was released. Few days of indexing and all other background activities that I understand, a month later still having awful battery life and my cellular all over the place. Waited two months for IOS 15.6, hoping it will fix my battery issues but with such a disappointment here I am sitting and looking at my iPhone screen watching the battery drain like a timer on a microwave.

IOS 15.5 and 15.6 totally ruined my experience. Moving from 14.8 couple of months ago, I’ve now lost 7% battery health and have to charge my phone twice a day. I’m seriously consider moving to Sony pro series.

Xs Max, purchased in Jan 2020, brand new. I hardly use my phone, original factory battery, I mainly use my ipad. I was on 14.8 for a long time and my battery lasted at almost twice longer than what it is now. Battery health was 98% on 14.8. Then upgraded to 15.5 when released losing 2% health. I had horrible battery drain on 15.5 then upgraded to 15.6 and losing further 3% battery health with it. Now battery health is at 93% and my daily usage hasn’t changed. I have lost 5% battery health between two IOS releases. Seriously, something is wrong here. Yes, my battery may degrade over time but I hardly even use it and my phone looks still as pristine condition following best charging practices as I can. I truly regret upgrading to ios 15. Worst experience for me ever.
