After updating to ios 15.6, when receiving a call, the earpiece doesnt work and can only hear through the speaker

The problem I am having isn’t because my speaker is dirty or clogged, its silent when I answer the call. The call is connected and the timer is growing but the phone is completely silent. My air pods pro will connect just fine, speaker phone works, my apple car work just fine as well. If I try and just answer and use my handset its as silent as if it were turned off. I have reset my Bluetooth, checked my sound settings, hard reset it, tried airplane mode, and refreshing my cellular settings……What else do ya got?
A restart was not performed. After the update was successfully installed, a test call was made and worked. However, the fix only lasted for a few hours. Earpiece is back to not functioning on iOS 16.0.2
They need to release an update that fixes this annoying glitch and its been going on now for over a week

Why haven’t they made an update to fix this? Do they often have bad updates? This is my first iPhone, and I’m not impressed so far.

I have no idea but this is the first time its been this bad. Ive contacted support and i hope they raise the issue cause its extremely frustrating.
this update is so frustrating and we all have to play the waiting game till the next update and there is nothing we can do to fix it.
That is exactly what happened to me with my iphone 12 pro. And even with the new update of 15.6.1 the issue hasnt been solved and i have no idea how long till they realise this and sort it out.

Hello All, I can confirm that the earpiece issue has been fixed on a iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 16.0.2
did you restart your iphone after the update because it didn't fix my issue
Was the Apple Store able to give any good advice? I’m still having the issue in my end.
I have the same issue after updating my iPhone 12pro to iOS 16. None of the trouble shooting steps work. Yersterday before the iOS update everything was working fine.
