If you are sharing an Apple ID with someone else, then you will be sharing your data and etc with that person as well. You should use your own Apple ID if you want to keep your data separate and private. Review this guide published by Apple 👉 How to create a new Apple ID if you need a new Apple ID.

Accounts Cannot be Merged:

Creating a new Apple ID is what would be created --not an iTunes account. And, yes, it is a way to go about this. Just know that accounts cannot be merged. So, you'll have to purchase your own items, from your own Apple ID.
