Bluetooth connection problems

Hi! First time using this! I cannot get my JBL Clip 4 to connect to Bluetooth on my Macbook Pro. Each time I try to connect, it says "Connection rejected", and I have no idea what to do. I have Monterey 12.5, and this was an update that was done 20 minutes before I attempted to connect. The same thing happened, however, prior to the update. I have included a screenshot here because I thought that might be helpful. Having read countless inquiries on this Apple Support Community, I know that being thorough--being as complete as possible--is appreciated, so I have tried to include as much information as I can. Thanks in advance for whatever help you might be able to give!

Thank you for the screenshot.

Troubleshooting Bluetooth and Upgrade:

Start with a Reboot (Not a Restart):

Having just installed updates, start with a Reboot:

  1. Power Off: your Mac through "Shut Down..." in the Apple menu.
  2. Wait: 30 seconds
  3. Power: back on.
  4. Log in: Normally

No Success?

B. Boot into Safe Mode:

In Safe ModeLogin Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another login. For instructions, go here: How to Use Safe Mode on your Mac - Apple Support

"Bluetooth connection problems: Hello TheLittles, Thanks for your reply. This is very cool! I post a question, and people jump in, providing answers. Well, I tried both of the suggestions you made, but with no luck. The response to my attempt to connect is the first screenshot. The article I used to reboot as you suggested is the second screenshot. I thought this would be easy. Any other suggestions? The article suggested reinstalling the macOS if the issue continues in safe mode. Is that a drawn out, cumbersome process? Thanks in advance, TheLittles!"

You are welcome.

Thank you for the screenshot.

Try Retting the Bluetooth Module in Terminal:

Use this Command:

sudo pkill bluetoothd

About Reinstalling the macOS:

Nothing would be lost. It's just that misplaced items would be placed back to where they should be and corrupt system files would be replaced by clean files. Go Here: Reinstall macOS - Apple Support.

Important: Prior to installing an update or performing a reinstallation, to prevent data loss, be sure to Back up your Mac with Time Machine. Doing so, you will have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong after the reinstall.

Is it a Cumbersome Process?:

I may take a while, or it may not. With a slow connection, expect it to be a bit.
