WinsC1, this is regarding Face ID in the app store only when trying to activate Apple Arcade. Face ID works everywhere else otherwise. That article seems to be specific to Face ID on the lock screen.

Note: I can only confirm this for activating from my provided Verizon account offer. It may be working otherwise.
