I purchased my first Mac. I'm trying to transfer information from my Windows PC, but the Migration Assistant can't find my Windows PC.

How are the two devices connected? The following is from this Apple document: Move your data from a Windows PC to a Mac - Apple Support

You'll get a faster and more reliable transfer if you're connected via cable.

I recommend connecting the two computers using a USB cable. An Ethernet cable will also work but is slower. I recommend against using Wi-Fi or a network as they are too slow for the amount of data to be transferred and corruption of the data often occurs. As I understand it it is necessary to download a PC version of Migration Assistant which must then be installed into the PC. Have you done that?
