remove icon from dock of Mac Book Air M2?

After quitting an app, how to remove icon from dock. Won't do so using Preferences option.

If you mean the 'recent apps' section at the right side of the dock, uncheck the show recent apps option.

To remove an app you've added to the dock, secondary-click the app in the dock, select options then uncheck Keep in Dock.
