It could be pulling this region information from the following (Check your devices and your child's devices):
- Check that your device is set to the correct location in Settings > General > Language & Region.
- Check the language in Settings > General > Keyboard
- Check that your region is set correctly for your Apple ID in Settings > [Your Name] > Media & Purchases > Account > Country/Region.
