My Mac does not detect a barcode reader

Hi All, I'm trying to use a Bematech usb barcode reader, but when I connect to usb, nothing happens, the keyboard assistant doesn't appear at all and I don't see anything at System information / USB.

The reader work perfectly on windows.

I tried deleting the file /Library/Preferences/com.apple.keyboardtype.plist, then reboot, but nothing happens.

I don't know what else to do, I think that in some way, the Mac ignore the reader when I connect it.

I have a MacBook Pro (16 inch 2021) Apple M1 Pro with 16Gb RAM, 1Tb SSD and Monterrey 12.5

The reader is a Bematech BR-400 USB.

Well, finally, I try the third mode of scanner, Wedge Keyboard, and the keyboard assistant appear. Now the reader appear in USB and all work great.

Do other USB devices work with your Mac? That can help us isolate the issue.

Hi, all usb ports function correctly, only with that reader, however the first time I connect de reader, Mac OS show me the keyboard assistant, but in that moment, I do click on continue and ignore them... reading later some cases, I learn that in that precise moment, I must read any barcode, and then continue. But never I can show the keyboard assistant again, I try deleting de com.apple.keyboardtype.plist with no results. May be, now I must do some other task to show de keyboard assistant again.

Since your USB ports work correctly on your Mac, we do recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if there is a compatibility issue or any other issues they might be aware of.

Ok, I understand, but, why the keyboard assistant appear only one time and never show again ??

There can be something to do. I hope.

Contact the manufacturer is not easy here.
