Studio Display looses sound

My Mac Studio and Studio Display worked great for a month. Now the sound from the Display stops after 3-4 seconds. Head phones work fine. HomePod works fine. AirPods work fine. Mac Studio speakers work fine. But the Studio Display speakers quit.

I have restarted many times. Unplugs the display for hours. Created a new user and logged on. Booted in Safe Mode. Nothing fixes it.

Speak to Apple Support and they act like they have never heard of this.

I have read how various people unplugged the MacStudio and Display, briefly, and the problem was fixed. I tried that. Logged off and unplugged the power to the MacStudio, and unplugged the display cable. Did not work. Then the light build went off. I never unplugged the power cable to the display. This morning I unplugged the power cable for 5 minutes, plugged it back in, and it worked.

Yes I did get the three dots as the display was rebooting. I forgot that this display also has a A13 chip inside and is a bit of a computer in itself.

Replying to myself: I fixed the problem for now by unplugging both (MacStudio and the Display) for about 2 minutes – the display displayed three points as an indicator that it's truly rebooting/restarting.

I have the same problem since about 2 days – the only difference before and after is an update to MacOS 12.5.

The audio plays, then stops after 3-5 seconds. If I change the Audio-Target to something else (via the menu bar with displayed sound control) and switch back I have another 3-5 seconds of sound.
