inputting new credit card info
I am having difficulty inputting my new mastercard number into my iphone, perhaps because the old credit card is still listed and it is the only card listed?

Try this -> Sign in to your Apple ID account page and edit / update your Apple ID details.
On the Sidebar click Payment methods -> then tap Payments Methods and tap Manage payment method.
