The Ring/Silent switch on my iPhone seems to be faulty as it does not close to the right

My iPhone7 does not ring and it seems the problem emanates from the Ring/Silent switch.

any thoughts?

See this for information on the use of the Ring/Silent switch on the iPhone. If it is not working correctly, then use the Get Support link at the top of the page here to contact Apple Support. If you have an Apple Store close by, make a Genius Bar appointment to have Apple examine the device. They will explain your options. Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple
