Wireless keyboard top buttons not working

I have a wireless keyboard (not apple) and I used it with my Intel i5 mac air. but now I have a m1 air and the top buttons such as brightness and Mission Control buttons dont work anymore. Is there a way to get them working again?

Why does Universal Control frequently disconnect between M1 Mac and M4 MacBook Air? When I am connected and working between the Mac and Macbook Air, it frequently disconnected and the Mac will not respond to a mouse and the macbook air only responds to a touch pad change. Sometime even the Air will not respond to even a touch gesture. This goes on sometimes for several minutes until it finally reconnects. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Did you already check the manufacturers webpage, if the keyboard can be used with M1 Macs?
