How to Make a Bootable USB for MacBook Air 2020 M1

Would like to learn how to make a bootable USB. I read how to do it on apple support, but when I click on the OS I need it open the App Store and want me to download it, will this Screw up my MacBook if it do this. I just want to make sure before I do it. Don't want to screw up my Mac.
