Why Must I Disconnect from AirPlay Inorder To Update Tag Information on Music Tracks?

Does anyone know if this is a bug, or is there a workaround for there not being a way to reliably update tag information in Music while using airport to play my iMac library on the home pod? It's enough that I have to manually turn on airport, just to have my iMac library play on my home pod (dumb, I know). But not being able to reliably update tag information on any tracks in Music while using airport is silly. The worse offender is any cover art updates you make will not save to a track while using airport. Also, other various information such as Artist, or Album, or other tag information changes may or may not save as well. Sometimes those changes or updates will stick, and sometimes they won't, this is so random that it screams slopping programming.

However, cover art will never save to a track while air port is running. In order to save cover art changes to a track, I have to constantly disconnect from airport. It's already a pain that I cannot ask my home pod to play anything from my music library on my iMac. Because of that and now finding out that I cannot update track information makes it entirely useless for me. So much so that I am thinking of selling it and looking into Alexa to see if that wench will work out any better.

All I really would like is for Siri to be able to play tracks from my Music library on command from my imac without having to subscribe to Apple Music to do so. I don't need a music streaming service, I don't want a music streaming service, and I don't think I should have to pay a monthly fee for one just to have home pod play what I already have on my imac. That alone makes home pod useless to me. But now that I found out I cannot make changes to tracks while connected to home pod via airport, makes it more than just useless. The thing is now a little round ball of discord.

But until this changes, does anyone have any idea what might be done to get this round ball to do what I would like it to do for all that cash I laid out for it? I don't like having to disconnect from airport every time I update something, which is what I often do while listening. It just seems so 1994.
