Need to backup IMAP accounts emails and folders in Mail and restore them

Hi,

I am working with different IMAP email accounts using the Mail mac client.

Because I cannot send or recieve emails anymore, I am about to change the DNS.

That's OK, but I am concernet about after that I will lose all the received emails.

I started to figure out how to backup the entire IMAP accounts with emails and folders, and restore them after the DNS update.

Currently I have made two different backups: one with Time Machine and a second with Mail Backup X app.

My main question is:

Am I sure that I could restore alle the messages and folders like before?

If I will import them from Time Machine, would it create a folder on my Mail on "on my mac" section where to manually restore emails?

Thank you in advice.

Using IMAP means the E-Mails are Stored on the Mail Servers associated with your e-mail accounts.

The Apple Mail Client, using IMAP, will reflect what is appearing on the e-mail Servers Before or After " I am about to change the DNS. "
