Resetting my AirPods

My AirPods arent connecting to my phone because one of them isnt recognized by my phone and i follow what this link tells me How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

and when i get to where it tells me to hole the button for 15 seconds it never flashes it goes from flashing amber to staying solid white from the second i hold the button and never quits until i let go it just goes back to flashing amber please help i dont know what to do i went into as much detail as possible thank you
