NY Times today says "press the scan button on your apple keyboard"

I have a new wireless keyboard that has a fingerprint button. Where is the scan button? Thanks

fingerprint readers work with Macs? I have my MacBook Pro in a raised and I use a separate keyboard. The only this I need the Mac's keyboard for is the fingerprint button, and it's quite a stretch. I'd like to find a fingerprint reader than can be plugged into a cable from the computer. THere are plenty of them but they all say they are for Windows. Are there any that work with the Mac?

My guess is, they meant the Touch ID key (fingerprint button).
