purchased movie will not play

I have purchased movies on Apple TV but they don't appear in my library and when I try to play them it asks me to buy them again, then says "you have purchased this movie already, would you like to download it?" Then after clicking yes, it does nothing and reverts back to original screen.

Try signing out of your account for the app or device, then sign back in. That would hopefully refresh the account information to include the correct Library items, and make purchases playable.

Else restart the device. Then try again.

If the issue persists, then contact Apple Support for further assistance.
