Mac book pro black screen with vertical lines

Does anyone know what’s wrong with my Mac book? I have had this laptop for three years so the apple care is expired, but I was also wondering a best estimate at what it would cost to repair it or should I just invest in the M1 or M2 MacBook Air?

Screen broken without any impact MBP 2019 16” I bought a 2019 MacBook Pro brand new in November of 2021 from Best Buy. When I woke up on the 642nd day, I found the screen black with some horizontal lines at the bottom at first. Then as I restarted it a few times those lines disappeared and all that is visible is a blur of colors in the bottom left corner. I’ve taken it to 2 certified Apple repair places and they want to charge $400 or more to fix it because I don’t have Apple care. I’ve owned 2 MBP in the past and they both lasted more than ten years so why in the world would I think I would need Apple care when the laptop is only a year old. A Genius Bar technician told me that they can’t guarantee quality because these computers are mass produced now and that’s where Apple care comes in. As if everyone is expected to fork out more money only a year later after paying over $2000 for what is expected to be a high quality machine. Anyone else experiencing display issues with their MacBook Pro 2019 16”?

Logic Board Failure Is there any sort of recall happening for the M1 model logic board failures? We've had our late 2020 macbook pro for a year and a half and it all of a sudden stopped powering on. We took it to an authorized Apple repair center and they said the logic board has failed. The tech mentioned this wasn't due to anything we did, they just fail sometimes. After reading through reddit, apple support, and other various forums, it seems like ever since Apple switched from the Intel chip they're having issues. No we didn't get applecare and obviously that would fix my complaint, but our previous apple products lasted 10+ years. It seems to me that if you make a product and it fails, you should offer a solution that isn't $800 (not to mention that solution often failing) and stand behind your product. Does anyone have any solutions or advice (please don't tell me to buy applecare next time) that would at least be a little easier financially for us?

A damaged MacBook has no trade-in value until you have it repaired.
