Unlock iPhone with broken screen after boot (without Siri/VoiceOver)

Hey there,

I have an iPhone XS Max with a broken screen and I’d like to backup my data. It is working just fine, except for the touch screen. Since it ran out of charge, I had to reboot it and now it requires me to type my password in order to do anything with it, which I’m not able to do…

I saw that one solution would be to unlock it using a wired keyboard + USB adapter after activating VoiceOver through Siri, but that doesn’t seem to be an option since Siri requires my password after boot.

I even went to a repair shop to get a new display, but it seems the touch IC was damaged and the phone doesn’t detect touch anymore.

It’s very frustrating to have my own phone, which I know the password of, lock me out like that. Is there an alternative way to type in the password? I don’t want to lose my data.

Thank you for your attention :)
