Creating family sharing

I want to add my child to family sharing. We Setup an apple id when we bought the phone. Family Sharing set up for adding the child, keeps saying the apple id is unavailable. We can log into her apple ID account, but her birthday is wrong. When we try to correct it, we get the message it can only be changed from family sharing. In the old days of may frame computers this is an "endless do loops".

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings > [your name].
  2. Tap Name, Phone Numbers, Email. You might need to enter your Apple ID password.
  3. Tap Change Birthday or Birthday.
  4. Update your birth date, then tap Done. If you're changing a birth date for a child, learn what to do.

It would be better if you can please re-post with a screenshot, in order to understand the phenomenon better. Images/pictures speak louder than words.
