Control-click on the TIFF, select "Edit With" from the drop down menu, select Preview. Once it opens, hold the option key and select "Save As…" from the File menu, change the Format: to JPEG, click Save.

Sorry, not sure I understand, click on TIFF? Edit With? Where is that? My photos are in Photos on my iMac and I tried a photo on my desktop but nothing like you said came up??? You're dealing with old boy here, sorry hahaha.
No, I took the Tiff and put it on my desktop then went to preview, opened the photo and it was a Jpeg without me doing anything. I thank you for your knowledge, I think you have solved this for me. Thankyou very much
Quite a few of us are old. 😎
While in Photos, right or control click on the Tiff file you want to change. See…
So I went to Preview with the image but there is nothing there to change Tiff to Jpeg????
Yes there is as I explained up there ↑
"select Preview. Once it opens, hold the option key and select "Save As…"
from the File menu, change the Format: to JPEG, click Save."
OK I went to mail, put the Tiff photo in a letter and it came up as a JPEG???? Now I'm totally confused
Do you mean after you changed it from TIFF to JPEG?
You're welcome. However, a TIFF file will not automagically change to a JPEG by moving it to the Desktop or adding it to Mail.
