MacBook a1398 Upgrade

To start...at this windows computer I needed to log in using my Apple ID. Then I was text a authentication number. I am now able to post.

At the Macbook I have attempted to upgrade. I have three ISOs. 10.12; 10.12.1; 10.13

I started the attempt to upgrade with 10:13 Sierra. The message was I needed an earlier version.

Thus I ended up with three install media.

Here is the difficulty. On the Macbook I have the ISO files on the desktop. When I click on install instead of installing the message says I need to authenticate using Apple ID to 'download' even though I have all the install files on the folder on the desktop.

I keep running into authenticate when using any of the Sierra install packages.

No problem to follow the authenticate. However when I put in the ID (email account) the password fails. Even though I used that ID and password to log in here. I cannot log in to authenticate whilst attempting to upgrade.

Then if I click on lost password I am given a code in order to advance. The assumption is that I would be able to 'reset' the password - a password with ID that is working!

When I type in the code I then get App Str recovery purchase failed. Thus the upgrade from Yosemeti to Sierra fails.

I thought that the upgrade/install ISO package would do what was necessary - to upgrade from 10 10 5 into a more advance OS.
