repeated login Windows 11

I am running Windows 11. The iCloud window pops up as part of 2 factor identification. I put in my username, password, plus the code I am sent to log in - and then I get another popup, sometimes as little as 1 minute later for login once again to continue using iCloud (no, not signing out in between).

How do I stop this almost continuous request for login/2FA?

No, no change in username or password. Even if I did, it should pop up ONCE to have me put in the new username/password, not an almost continuous popup.

Hello nontrad,

Have you recently changed your Apple ID or the password to that Apple ID? If so, this page will have some steps/info that may help out: What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support

For example, it'll note the following steps that can help on Windows:

Open iCloud for Windows and click Sign Out.
•If you're signed out, sign in with your updated Apple ID and password. The data in iCloud will automatically appear on your device after you sign in.
•If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID:
1. Click Sign Out. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked if you want to make copies or delete iCloud data (Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Bookmarks, Photo Stream) from your PC. Click Delete. Your data will remain in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
2. Sign in with your updated Apple ID and password.

Signing out and back in may be able to help even if the Apple ID or password hadn't been changed.

Cheers.

Thanks for getting back to us with that information, nontrad. It’s appreciated.

Next, we’d like to confirm that your Windows PC and iCloud for Windows are both up to date. For iCloud for Windows, you’ll go to this site: iCloud - Microsoft Store Apps

After updating both, or neither required updating, please restart your PC and test (if you haven’t already).

If you’re still getting repeated requests to sign in with your Apple ID, please contact Apple Support to look into this issue further with you: Get Support

All the best.
