Why is the iPhone 13 camera so terrible?

This has been an issue for months based on the feedback from other iPhone 13 owners and Apple appears happy to ignore it. It seems to be related to the macro setting, but when it’s off, the camera is completely blurry on 1x zoom. When macro is on, it’s grainy. Photo and video are both horrible in the majority of lighting environments. Half the time I don’t even bother trying to take the picture anymore. It’s practically useless.

We have two of the same model (Pro Max) and they do the same thing. I had a better camera on my flip phone ten years ago. How did Apple allow this iPhone to go into production?
