How do I fix it? I've tried synching the Apple remote through the Fire TV and through Apple TV.

I have the newest Apple TV that came out either this year or late last year. It's the one that comes with the thicker remote control. I use the Apple TV for watching programs. The Fire TV is just a monitor at this point.
My Toshiba Fire TV updated recently and now my Apple 2nd Gen Remote won't synch with the tv for Volume and Muting. Help, please!!
