Eject key on Magic Keyboard

Does this key have any function in relation to ejecting Flash drives? I've found four ways to eject but none involve the key.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.5

eject key function? Hi there, So I have the Apple Keyboard (old wired one) and the Magic keyboard (wireless) connected to my iMac pro, touch screen MacBook pro, etc.. I know cmd+option+control and then eject has all sort of functions like restart, shut down... However, is there any function for pressing the Eject key on its own? I don't see any function but worry will there be any side-effect as I occasionally touched it by, wondering how Mac OS (monterey and so on) will see that eject keystroke, will it trigger/ change anything, will it damage my OS, if I see nothing happens does it really mean nothing happens?

trying to eject a USB drive. None of the tutorials apply because nothing shows up on the desktop acknowledging the USP port being used Can't eject a thumb drive from the side port. tutorials refer to an identifying icon on the desktop. I find nothing to right click/eject.

is the ctrl-eject to shut down gone? Hi! As the title says: Is the a keyboard-shortcut to get the sleep/reboot/shut-down modal onscreen gone? Before the touch-id-key, it was ctrl-eject, but this doesn't seem to work anymore and hasn't been replaced? Thanks

The "Eject" key is there to eject CDs/DVDs.
