If you don't already have an iCloud account, Go to Syettings (or System Preferences)/iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID. Iin the list there, select which facilities you want to enable. When you click 'Mail' you will be asked to create an email addres, something@icloud.com
If you already have an iCloud account simply enable Mail.
