iPod Nano 3rd Generation not showing up on iTunes

I recently got an iPod Nano 3rd Gen, and when I tried to connect it to iTunes, it does not appear. I checked the System Report page and it says that an iPod is connected, however, it does not appear on iTunes. When I checked the iPod's "about" section, it says the version is:


"1.1.2 PC"


Does that mean that it's formatted for Windows? If so, how do I fix this issue?
