iTunes stuck on "Reading photos from (Windows folder)", Step 3 of 4

I can't sync my photos from my Windows computer to my iPhone (13 Max) in iTunes anymore. This has being going on for a couple of months. I had the Apple store reconfigure my phone, I've bought a new computer thinking it was a memory issue, I removed photos from the phone and tried to sync a smaller amount of photos, no luck.

Some old threads said to delete Cache folders, and that hasn't helped. The phone is only 3 months old, and I'm running the latest version of iTunes and my software is up to date. I just gets stuck in "Reading photos from..." for hours. Does anyone have a fix?

Okay, that's an important point to have confirmed.

I think you should check the contents of the folder that you're trying to synchronise to your phone. Perhaps there is a file (or files) in it that is (are) causing a problem: either the file type or the size of the pictures. Perhaps even, a damaged file.

I'm not an expert in this but I believe that iTunes effectively compresses the pictures when adding them to a portable device. If there is a file that is too large, perhaps iTunes just cannot cope. As for file types, what file; types are you trying to add? Lastly, it could be a damaged file that's causing the issue.

You could try moving files from the folder that have been recently added (the couple of months that you mention) to see whether the problem goes away. If it does, that narrows the problem down to the files that you took out of the folder. Then try adding back a few at a time to see which ones cause the problem to reappear.
