Your phone is ALWAYS locked by it’s Passcode which is known ONLY to you.

The data can’t be decrypted w/o the passcode.

You can remotely erase your phone using FindMy; but it doesn’t make your data any more secure. (it only erases the encrypted data which can’t be retrieved anyway)

If the phone was indeed stolen; there’s not much point in “finding” it.

You need to simply assume that it’s gone forever and act accordingly.

Remember that the data on your phone is VERY well protected by your secret passcode.

Do NOT perform “Step 7.”

WARNING: Going forward expect messages from the thieves - claiming to be Apple (or the police) - attempting to obtain your personal info to break into your phone and/or AppleID.

These are phishing attempts which can appear VERY convincing.

Disclose NOTHING and don’t follow any links they might contain.
