My Face ID breaks every time my phone gets wet

I have an iPhone 12 Pro I got it new in July 2021 and a little over a month ago it got splashed a little with pool water and the Face ID got disabled and apple fixed it for free under the limited warranty cause there was no damage and they said it was a defect. A few days ago it got splashed and it got disabled again and my limited warranty expired but I have AppleCare so what should I do I thought it was fixed but I think there’s something wrong with my phone if it’s water resistant the Face ID shouldn’t break every time it gets wet and I’m worried this will keep happening and I will have to pay for it each time so what should I do

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15

You don’t have a choice.

Read ▶︎ Water Damage (not covered by warranty). 💦

Turning on a wet machine can cause more damage and increase the cost of repair. ⚠️

Based on your situation, I recommend service.
