Greetings Anniz2,
Check out this link to learn more: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.
From the Mail app, open the email that has the contact that you want to block, then tap the contact at the top. Tap Block this Contact.
"When you block an email address from Mail, it goes to the trash folder. Email blocking works across all your Apple devices."
Also note that if you follow steps to report spam or junk, this will not automatically block the sender, you will have to do that manually following the steps on that page.
Cheers!

If I may add one more thing to this topic. It was stated that:
“When you block an email address from Mail, it goes to the trash folder. Email blocking works across all your Apple devices."
My blocked email kept showing up. Then I learned that there was one more step. I had to select Settings> Mail > Blocked Sender Options. From there, I was able to select Move to Trash.
As stated above, this worked across all Apple Devices. It works on my iPhone and iPads.
Hey Anniz2,
Is Screen Time enabled on the iPad. If so, you may want to check those settings. Here's an article that should help: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
If Screen Time is off and/or the article above didn't help, we suggest contacting Apple Support here: Get Support.
Take care.
Hey Anniz2,
Yes, you should be able to block on the iPad using those same steps. Just to confirm, is this a new contact that you are attempting to block from the one you blocked on the iPhone? Since blocking syncs across devices, if you blocked on the iPhone it would not show to block on the iPad.
If you did not block this contact on the iPhone previously, then does this only happen with one contact or any contact that you attempt to block?
Keep us updated.
Thank you but when I tap the contact then tap it where it appears after From, I do not get the option to Block this contact. It is not on the list of options. This is on my iPad. I am able to block emails on my phone.
Is there a way to add Block this contact to my iPad options?
Thank you for responding. I do not have any of these senders in my contact list. When I successfully block these same emails on my phone, I tap the sender then tap again where the sender appears after from, and I get a list which includes Block this contact.
When I open the same email on my iPad, I tap the sender’s name, but the option to block does not come up. I get Send message, Share contact, Share my location, Create new contact, Add to existing contact, but no Block contact.
This happens with any email I try to block.
