Brightness slider doesn’t work on iPhone 12

Brightness slider doesn’t work. I can put it up or down but the bright is always dim to the max. Help?

iPhone screen dims in sunlight I’ve been having this issue for some months now and haven’t received any understanding as to why this happens. At least let the brightness be the same while using the phone in direct sunlight but no, it gets darker making it harder to see the screen. Even when I leave the sunlight into a dark area the dim remains. Is there fix for this? I’ve also considered the auto brightness adjustment and turned it off and resetting my phone and updating it but this doesn’t resolve the issue. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

When your device is too warm, the screen will dim to protect the device.
