Charger for iPhone 12

Hi all,

If I have a 70W Charger for iPhone (the big MacBook Bricks) and a 40W cable, will the iPhone peak charging at 40W?

Also, I've noticed after around 10 months of using the big brick for charging, my iPhones peak capacity is 96%. Is 40W the max Wattage to charge an iPhone before it affects battery life, or can I go a little up from there?

Thanks.

Thanks very much for this, So essentially (I have just looked it up and google says that iPhone 12 can charge up to 22W) even if I charge my iPhone 12 with a 10000000000W charger, my iPhone will only charge at 22W as that is its peak charging performance? Hence meaning that the charger won't damage the battery, just the excess power not being used will go to waste?

Thanks :).

no

Watt  is like how fast your car can drive, but the speed limit is how fast your car do drive

the iphone draw as much current as it was build to use when charging, the fact that a charger can provide a lot more just means it's not having its full capacitive used

so as long as it's no higher than 5volts and the connector fits and it's minimum 5 watt then it could be 5GigaWatt without problems

from the day a recharable battery is created it begins to die, you can only slow it down, sooner or later it will have to be replaced
