With a wireless printer you will first need to connect the printer to the same network as your iMac. Then once it is added to the wifi network it can be added to the iMac. You can use the steps listed here to add the printer to the iMac: Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac - Apple Support

You will need to use whatever steps from Brother to get the printer connected to the network first. Then it should add to macOS fairly easy. If this was a printer that was already setup before and suddenly stopped working you may want to unplug the power cord for the printer for about 1 minute and then plug it back in. If the issue persists then double-check that it is still connected to the correct wifi network.
