Can't attach ear tip to my AirPod!

Hello, I just bought a new set of medium size ear tips for my AirPod Pros. Recently, my original ear tip got ripped and fell off, so I attempted to put on a new one. However, I could not get the open end of the ear tip to attach to the pod. I could never get it to 'click' and I ended up tearing the ear tip. Long story, short - I ended up tearing three ear tips trying so hard to push it onto the pod to attach. I looked up videos and instructions and I'm not doing anything different. It just seems that the ear tip opening is big enough for the attachment piece on the pod. This is so frustrating. Now I bought the tips and they are torn and useless. Any advice on what I may be doing wrong? Thanks.

How to remove and attach ear tips

To remove an ear tip, pull firmly with your fingers at the base of the ear tip, where the ear tip is attached to the AirPod.
To attach an ear tip, align the ear tip with the oval-shaped connector on the AirPod. With your fingers at the base of the ear tip, push the ear tip onto the connector until you hear it click into place.


If you continue to run into issues with attaching the ear Tips to your AirPods, you may be able to bring your AirPods to a local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional help in person. For help with finding nearby locations, check out this link here: Find Locations - Apple
