My Macbook Pro 13 Screen goes black when extended over about 80 degrees

My macbook pro13 worked with no problems yesterday, but when I waked up it today, the screen was black. I closed the screen and reopened it slowly, it shows everything, but when it was extended further to like 80 degrees or more, it went black completely. Touch bar still works, but nothing is shown on the screen. I googled and asked my friends, they said some series Macbook pro have this problem because of the design shortage resulted from touch bar.

I found there is a program called "13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program", I am wondering if my mac has the same problem. Is this the service can solve my Mac issue?

Thank you,

Karen

So that program is specifically for 2016 Macbooks. If your macbook fits that then probably go through with the program: 13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program - Apple Support

Hello Raagavt, thank you for your reply. My MacBook pro model is 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports. I checked the link you provided, it seems my mac is qualified for getting this service, but not sure if they will charge anything since this mac was purchased in 2017 and passed its warranty. I will make an appointment with Apple to check.

Thank you!
