Apple tv+ with older mac

Following up on the question posed in thread 250889627 (Apple tv+ with older mac - Apple Community), it now no longer seems possible to access AppleTV via https://tv.apple.com/. When I click on the "sign in" button at the top right of my browser window, there is no reaction prompting me to sign in to my AppleID. Is this due to my El Capitan MacOS, or a missing feature/extension in Safari 11.1.2, or...?

Thanks for letting me know if/how I can keep using my old (2007) iMac as a TV--frankly, it seems ridiculous that I can't even use it to stream AppleTV.

It may be be due to the Safari version on older versions OS X, in combination with changes in the technique used for the site.

Try Firefox as alternative browser. Their version for OS X 10.11 is now unsupported due to age, meaning no more security updates (same as Safari).

Chrome now requires macOS High Sierra 10.13 or later.

You may plea your case for the return of old Safari compatibility, through Feedback - Apple TV App - Apple.
