Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My iPhone SE is hot to the touch since downloading the 15.6.1 upgrade. Also the battery level is dropping quickly in both that phone and two iPads with the upgrade. No applications are open/running on the devices.
It seems that the OS upgrade is causing something to run in the background that's heating the devices and gobbling up the battery life.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

After every iOS update, it is advisable to Force Restart your device.

You may be using GPS in the background. Try turning it off.
Exactly same situation. Multiple reboots done but nothing changed. Turned off almost everything but still same
I know Its important. I am just trying to find what causes the heat.
Same issue here with iPhone 13. Restart does not help, browsing a few websites makes phone heat up unusual. Closing all apps doesn't help either.
Same issue here iPhone 7+, Battery is dropping 25% in 2 hrs sitting, no applications running. Ready to take in for new battery but afraid I will be left with the same situation.
The FORCE RESTART as suggested by lobsterghost1 seems to have fixed the issues (or significantly improved them).

Yes, After updating 15.6.1, started a battery drain issue in my iPhone 12 device.
Rolling back is not a good idea because serious security issue is worse than heat
I'm also having the same issue. My battery percentage also dropped from 100% to 96% after downloading the new ios 15.6.1
I am having the same problem on my IPhone 11 Pro since the latest update. Did the restart. Very frustrating.

With all of these postings I have to think this is systemic and on Apples radar. It’s important to send your concerns to Apples site.
