How can I connect MBP 2012 to MBAir 2022 using a thunderbolt bridge connection?
There is no thunderbolt port on the MBPCatalina.

OK I think your initial thought is the correct one.
In reading (somewhere) about thunderbolt (bridge) that such a connection of computer to computer was more rapid and convenient than other methods (wifi, ethernet) [particularly if wanted to send individual files/folders/images etc.]
