TV app downloads only .movpkg (HLS), no .m4v

TV app on iMac, 6 cores.

The TV app only downloads .movpkg (HLS), but no .m4v files. I don not want HLS media. The preferences in the TV app are alright. But it does not download .m4v. Since a few weeks.

Movies Download in HLS Instead of m4v I recently bought a Macbook Air M1. I tried to re-download my previously purchased iTiunes movies via the Apple TV app. For some of the movies it downloads an HLS file instead of an m4v file. I want the m4v file. I looked up what to do, and did the standard solution of going to "Settings," and then on to "Playback." I set it to download the "Most Compatible HD (1080p)" and unchecked "Download Multichannel Audio." This is also the solution I used when it occurred on my old Macbook Air. However, it hasn't worked this time. I tried re-downloading the troublesome movies on my old MacBook Air, and it worked with the same settings that aren't working on my new Macbook Air. I looked around on the internet and discussion forums, and there don't seem to be other solutions the one I've already tried. Any other suggections?

It seems that has changed with a recent macOS version.
