why did my lightning digital av cable stop working on ipad mini 1os 12.5.5 when new update was offered. my ipad mini cannot take new update. the lightning cord worked perfectly before security update was offered

First, with iOS 12.5.5 installed, you don’t have an iPad mini1 - as this 32-bit architecture device cannot be updated beyond iOS 9.3.5/6. You must instead have either an iPad mini2 or mini3 (both 64-bit devices).


As for your Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter, there is no technical reason why it might cease to work with your iPad.


Have you tried a forced-restart of your iPad? A forced restart will often clear an isolated software issue:


  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
