LOST AIRPODS (Find my iPhone app)

If I lost my AirPods (2nd generation) and use the find my iPhone app to locate them and it just says “Approximate location: Your device is somewhere in this circle”.

Does that mean the device is CURRENTLY in that circle location or does it mean it was in that circle location according to when it was used last but you possibly be somewhere else now?

So for example I’m at home and the app states my AirPods were last seen yesterday at 14.00pm which was 10 miles out. The “your device is somewhere in this circle” mean it’s still 10 miles out or was 10 miles out when you last used it?

Hi BIGNAT619,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! That's a great question. If your AirPods are appearing on the map that means they can be located.

If your AirPods could not be located, then as noted in the article below "If your AirPods are out of range or need to charge, you might see their last known location, "No location found," or "Offline."

You can't play a sound to find them, but you might be able to get directions to the location where they were last connected.":

Find your lost AirPods

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
